This 2-mile long and 1-mile wide azure became the home of the HMAV Bounty mutineers.
And their Tahitian partners’ descendants.
The island’s population peaked at 200 in the 1930’s.
Now, only 48 residents live in Pitcairn.
Emily is one of the eight children on the island.
Two teens will soon leave and go to middle school in New Zealand.
Everyone knows everybody's name and heritage in Pitcairn.
Everybody attends each other's birthday parties—literally.
By 2020, approximately 80% of their population will be over 65 years of age.
These petroglyphs proved that Polynesians were the first to live here.
The glyphs are located on the southeast side of Pitcairn.
Proximal to the glyphs, you’ll find the only sandy beach on the island.
Because it is generally full of rocks.
This small paradise can only be accessed by ships.
It is surrounded by royal blue water.
And spectacular coasts…
Pitcairn is approximately 1350 miles east southeast of Tahiti and 4100 miles from Panama.
You can locate their administrative headquarters in Auckland New Zealand, which is about 3300 miles away from Pitcairn. But if you wish to be their 49th resident you can pass your application form to the Island Council and the Governor.
The natives named Tony Probst, a world traveller, is the island's ambassador.
He has been to Pitcairn four times since 2011.
The locals permitted Probst to take photos and publish them for publicity purposes.
Their main source of income is tourism, but they do have a few other different jobs.

The natives rely on generators for electricity, but it only stays on for two hours.
It is then shut off at 10 o'clock.
The tourists may have to spend over $100 a month if they wish to have electricity and use the internet; however, it will be worth the cost.
