Man Discovers A Family Of Mice In His Garden, Builds Them A Miniature Village

The cutest tiny village for an adorable little family!

What would you do if you found a family of mice living in your garden? One photographer decided to create a wonderful home for his tiny neighbors. He has built an adorable little village that would make any mouse feel like a king.

Simon Dell discovered that he shared his garden with one little mouse at first. Instead of immediately getting rid of the tiny rodent, he fetched his camera and began taking photos of the mouse. From there, the photographer decided he would make his furry tenant feel comfortable. This is when he began making a shelter filled with food for the mouse.

This lucky mouse has an adorable little village to share with his family.

According to Dell, it all started with just one mouse he named George. However, George has since found a girlfriend they called Mildred and eventually had a little family. The photographer decided to keep working on the little village while taking adorable pictures of the mice.

“I decided to build them a home as I wanted to give them a safe place in the garden and not fall prey to cats or other animals. Also, as I was feeding the mice it was the right thing to do as I would feel it was my fault getting them to come out if they became prey. Being a wildlife photographer, I wanted to create a nice looking habitat for any pictures I would take.”

Dell also takes special care in providing all natural food for the mice. He admits that he gives them seeds and berries as well as mealworms.

The mice seem to enjoy posing for Dell’s photographs.

The tiny village continues to get better as Dell wants to make sure the mice feel comfortable through winter. He says that “the mice are still here and living a very happy life.”

“It is winter now, so the days are shorter and they come out less often. Once it gets dark, it can be hard to see them. However, I see them come out in the day for food and it is always all gone by the next morning. I also give them handfuls of feathers from an old pillow and they take that to line their beds inside and keep them warm on these cold UK winter nights.”
