On Monday, January 2, 22-year-old Blake Jefferson had a meltdown at a court in Houston, Texas. He was accused of murder after killing his 48-year-old mother Dedre at their home last December 30, 2016.
At the time of the murder, Blake — a University of Texas graduate — had allegedly been taking drugs and was suffering mental health issues. Last December 29, he had gone to church to try to talk to a pastor. He was experiencing “spiritual visions” that had something to do with the numbers “7” and “3.” However, church security reportedly had to restrain him due to his erratic manner.
Focused on his own misery, he seems to have forgotten that he killed his mom.
When Blake finally got home, his mother notice that his behavior was a little out of whack.
Then, at around 2 a.m. on December 30, Dedre called her mother and talked to her about Blake “acting strangely.” Dedre probably made the call during that unholy hour because she was already afraid of what Blake might do. She asked for her own mother’s help.
He saw his relatives in court.
In the middle of the phone call, Dedre started screaming that Blake was stabbing her. The phone line then got disconnected.
Dedre’s mother immediately called the police, asking them to head to Dedre’s home. Unfortunately, when they got there, it was too late.

It turns out that Blake had stabbed Dedre repeatedly and then dragged her body to the garage. He then ran out of the house and broke in to a neighbor’s home to hide. The neighbor alerted the police about Blake’s presence. The police found Blake hiding inside a closet. The took him into custody and brought him to the hospital to be treated for what they called a “suspected drug overdose.”
During his court appearance, the judge informed Blake that he was being charged with one count of murder. His bond was set at $50,000.
Knowing this, it probably sank in for Blake that he was going to prison, where he would have to deal with brutal inmates.
Blake Jefferson's screams could be heard outside the courthouse.
As Blake was being led away by the cops, he started shouting, “I don’t wanna get raped!” Some reports said that the judge allegedly gave a bitter laugh after hearing Blake’s declaration.
Blake kept saying, “They gonna f**k me. They gonna f**k me.” He was also heard mumbling, “My ass is gonna be on fire.”
Blake will reappear in court in February.
