She Invited a Stranger to Sit with Her in a Restaurant. What She Discovered was Tear-Jerking

Some people find it uncomfortable or awkward to dine alone in the restaurant and this was the case for Brooke Ochoa, a woman who invited a stranger to sit with her in a restaurant.

According to Brooke’s Facebook post, she noticed an old woman, whom she earlier held a door for,  ask  a waitress “for a table for one”.

At first, Brooke hesitated to approach the elderly woman but soon gathered enough courage to invite her eventually.

Brooke said “I waited and hesitated but then I walked over and said, ‘I’m eating by myself too would you like to have lunch together?’ She was ecstatic!”

The old woman named Delores soon shared her heartbreaking story to her lunch date. Through their conversation, Brooke discovered that Delores recently lost her mother, whom she had been living with for the past decade. Her aunt, who also lived with them, was recently placed in a nursing home. Because of this, Delores was feeling lonely.

Brooke revealed that she and her new friend had a wonderful talk. In fact, the new found mates decided to have a lunch date every Thursday from then on.

Brooke told Mirror UK.:

“Her words healed my heart just as much as I healed her lonely one. By far the best decision I’ve made all year!”
