Leonardo di Caprio’s Private Island Is Absolute Bliss

Apart from the fact that Leonardo di Caprio happens to be a handsome, talented and very rich actor, he also is the owner of a private island that is pure bliss. All that is missing now is an Oscar award which he very well deserves, right?

Ten years ago, Leo bought the charming island in Belize with the intention of turning it into the world’s very first eco-restorative resort. We all know that Leo is dead set on pushing for a cleaner and greener environment, thus the dream of owning the very first eco-restorative resort in the planet. This resort is aims to benefit the over-fished waters and eroding coastlines.

When di Capirio found the island during a vacation, he felt that the fishermen who used and were situated in the island were destroying the ecosystem by chopping down too much wood and overfishing the waters. This prompted Leo to purchase the island, stat.

Once finished, the island is going to run on renewable energy.

Currently, the island is being rehabilitated to preserve whatever is left of it.

The target date for finishing the rebuilding is 2018, and there will be stricter rules for visitors of the island. Once it’s finished, Leo’s island will be powered completely by renewable energy.

This is how the island should look like in the next few decades.

The said restoration is a pet project for di Caprio, despite the thoughts of some skeptics saying that it might not be a good idea to actually restore the island.

The ambitious project show an arc-shaped platform with villas and artificial reefs and fish shelters underneath.
