What a smart dog!
Dogs are highly intelligent creatures and you’d be surprised with what they can do. One recent incident in Thailand shows us exactly that as an injured golden retriever received popularity after he walked straight to the vet to receive treatment.
According to reports, the dog accidentally hurt his eye and he was later found at the door of the Petto Street clinic, a vet clinic in Lam Lukka, Pathum Thani. The dog’s left eye, as can be seen in the photos below, was covered in blood.
Siramanee Wongpitayadisai, the vet on duty, immediately patched up the dog’s eye. She also placed a cone on the animal’s head to make sure that he won’t mess around with his injured eye.
She called him ‘Den’ which is Thai shorthand for golden retriever, according to a website.
In a Facebook post, Siramanee wrote:
“While I was busy with a customer, I found Den standing outside the clinic, smiling, with his face covered in blood. I thought the owner had taken him here, but no one showed up after the dog.
“We took him in and performed a checkup. His left eyelid was torn.
“Please share this post. We want him to meet his owner. We feel so sorry for him.”
Thanks to the lady vet’s post, the owner was eventually located. The owner said that the dog unexpectedly went out and may have hurt himself in the process.
Den’s story has since been covered by Thai media. Many have praised the animal for being smart.
I mean, yeah, it’s not everyday we hear about a dog going to a vet clinic by himself!
Kudos to you, Den, and kudos to Siramanee for taking care of this special pooch.
Someone tried to open the door from the outside. Fortunately, she remembered her dad's tip!
