Harvard Professor Says You Should Only Eat 6 French Fries Per Serving

There is little doubt that French fries are one of the best foods ever invented by man. The crispy golden fingers of potatoes are the perfect companion to any meal and most of us could consume dozens of fries in one sitting.

However, a Harvard University professor claims that we may have been eating too many fries per meal. Dr. Eric Rimm says that the ideal serving should only consist of six French fries.

Dr. Rimm is a professor in the departments of epidemiology and nutrition at the Harvard T. H. Chan School of Public Health. According to Dr. Rimm, potatoes as “starch b0mbs” that could wreak havoc on your diet as well as your health. Nevertheless, people couldn’t resist French fries as a side dish. As a remedy, Dr. Rimm has a serving suggestion.

“There aren’t a lot of people who are sending back three-quarters of an order of French fries,” he said. “I think it would be nice if your meal came with a side salad and six French fries.”

In addition to that, Dr. Rimm suggests tracking how you feel after consuming the “ideal” serving proportion saying that it might lead to changes in your eating habits.

Needless to say, people aren’t happy with the suggested proportion. Several netizens had strong reactions to being allowed only six French fries at a time.

Meanwhile, others couldn’t help but joke about throwing away the remaining fries once you’ve had your first six.
