Remember that grumpy old guy from the 'Up' movie? Apparently, he has real-life counterparts!

Remember the movie ‘Up’? If you’ve seen that, then you know that the touching 2009 animated feature centers on Carl Fredricksen, a grumpy old man who set out to achieve a lifelong dream he shared with his departed spouse. At the earlier part of the film, we see how Mr. Fredricksen bravely refused to sell his house even when the rest of his neighbors already did so.

Apparently, we actually have a lot of Carl Fredricksens in real life in that regard. The homeowners you will see below refused against the idea of selling their properties to big corporations and governments. As the pictures below show us, however, they also experienced unexpected consequences as a result of their individual decisions.
