Will the Mother of Dragons turn into a dragon herself?
The internet is dark and full of Game of Thrones fan theories, but the strangest theory about the HBO series appears to be gaining momentum. Some fans believe that the show is about to unleash its biggest dragon in an upcoming Season 8 episode, and it could be Daenerys Targaryen herself.
The Mother of Dragons went through a lot in the most recent episode of Game of Thrones Season 8. In The Last of the Starks, Daenerys finally brought her fleet to King’s Landing and was promptly defeated by Euron Greyjoy’s Iron Fleet. In addition to that, her dragon Rhaegal was shot down by Euron and her most loyal companion Missandei was captured and beheaded in front of her.
The death of her child and friend is certainly devastating for Daenerys and her furious reaction at the end of the previous episode has already led to speculations that she will turn into the Mad Queen soon. On the other hand, some believe that Dany is set for a major transformation in Game of Thrones Season 8 Episode 5.
Fans theorize that Daenerys has some magical qualities of her own. This might explain why she is able to remain unscathed in a fire. In addition to that, Mirri Maz Duur had actually told Dany that her stillborn son with Khal Drogo had dragon-like features.
The theory further suggests that the Targaryens had a true connection to dragons in that they themselves could eventually transform into the beasts. With that in mind, some believe that Daenerys will transform into the biggest dragon to defeat Cersei Lannister and burn down King’s Landing.
It’s certainly a strange theory but a lot of people are beginning to believe that it could happen. After all, Emilia Clarke had previously teased that the fifth episode of the final season is going to be the biggest episode. In the meantime, we’ll have to wait to find out exactly what she meant.
