They were literally just tossing their children over the school's six-foot high fence.
In order to put their kids to school in time, the parents at this school in Avignon, France have been “literally throwing their kids” over the fence when they are about to be late. The school had to put signs at the entrance to put a stop to it.
Trillade Primary School posted signs outside the school that say “Je ne lance pas mes enfants par-dessus le portail!” (I’m not throwing my children over the gate!”). The sign shows a stick figure pushing a child over the gates so they can land in the school yard.
What prompted the school to do such are reports that there are parents who were literally just hurling their children over the school’s six-foot high fence just to make sure that the young ones don’t miss the 8:30 am deadline.
The parents were also informed that late ones have to come back with their children after 10 am or 3 pm when the school’s gates reopen.
Sanaa Meziane, Trillade’s head teacher, said the staff has had enough of “irresponsible parents.” She cleared that the problem was not common, but the school wanted to act immediately in order to prevent children getting hurt in the future.
Schools in France have tightened their security following a series of terror attacks, most recently the beheading of a teacher in Paris last October.

“The threat is everywhere. Instructions were given to our ambassadors to strengthen the security measures at our diplomatic posts or identifiable French locations like the French Alliance posts and we’ve decided to only reopen French schools after putting in place heightened security measures.”
French President Emmanuel Macron called an emergency security meeting, which led to the increase in security at schools, diplomatic posts, and cultural institutes abroad.
