30 Funny Comics That Accurately Depict Parenthood

As a new parent, I cracked up when I stumbled upon a funny Ed Asner quote one day. He said “Raising kids is part joy and part guerilla warfare.”

I instantly connected with that. You see I have a very active toddler who can only be described as a “little twister.” Everything in the house is a mess. It’s a normal day for us when we see clays on the floor, toy trucks on the shoe rack, jigsaw puzzles on the book shelf, etc. It can be a bit annoying to put these toys away all the time and yet they always find their way back to these improper places.

Still, I know this is all just the beginning. Our boy is only 3 years old and I’m sure of one thing – the worse is yet to come. We really should expect the unexpected, meaning more chaos, as he grows older.

For these reasons, I’ve found great pleasure in reading and following Bran Gordon’s wonderful webcomic series called “Fowl Language.” Although the comic features ducks as characters, it accurately captures the ups and downs of parenthood. It’s hilarious, heartwarming, and often filled with expletives.

Read on and have a hearty laugh with these 10 awesome comics that surely sum up parenthood:

Brian Gordon works as a greeting card artist and does these comics on his free time. He has two kids and so he personally knows the insanities that come with being a parent. He wrote:

“My comics are largely inspired by my struggles as a parent, my fascination with technology, science and all things geeky. Oh, and a constant, crushing wave of self-doubt and anxiety. That’s a big source of inspiration, too.”
