Family Gets Kicked Off The Plane After 2-Year-Old Daughter Refused To Wear Mask

Did the airline do the right thing or is this too much?

  • In tears, Colorado mom Eliz Orban tweeted how she and her family have been kicked off a United Airlines plane because her 2-year-old daughter wouldn’t wear a mask.
  • Her tweet went viral online and attracted mixed reactions.
  • Meanwhile, the airline continues to emphasize that all passengers, ages 2 and above, are required to keep their masks on during flights.

A mother from Colorado has expressed her outrage on social media after her family was booted off a United Airlines flight. Eliz Orban, her husband, and their daughter were supposed to fly from Denver to Newark but the aircraft’s crew told to leave instead.

The reason behind the commotion? The couple’s 2-year-old daughter refused to keep her mask on.

Eliz has since described the experience as “absolutely traumatizing” and “very humiliating.”

Upon boarding the plane, the couple was asked how old their daughter is. Since the child didn’t have a mask on, a flight attendant gave them one after learning she’s already 2 years old.

The little girl, however, still refused to wear it.

Eventually, a supervisor approached them, instructing them to leave the plane if their daughter couldn’t comply with the mask mandate.

In an interview with FOX, Eliz shared:

“We are premier members with United, so we’ve flown many times, even during the pandemic we’ve flown with our 2-year-old.

“We’ve just flown two months ago because all of our family lives on the East Coast, so this is the only way for them to see their granddaughter. And this time was just extremely different.”

Meanwhile, United Airlines representative later issued a statement, saying:

“The health and safety of our employees and customers is our highest priority, which is why we have a multi-layered set of policies, including mandating that everyone on board 2 and older wears a mask.

“These procedures are not only backed by guidance from the CDC [The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention] and our partners at the Cleveland Clinic, but they’re also consistent across every major airline.”
