Behold the Umaid Bhawan Palace located at Jodhpur, India. This magnificent palace was built between 1928 and 1943 for His Highness Maharaja Umaid Singh ji. It is one of the largest exclusive and private residences that is the current home of Indian royalty sits high above Jodhpur, the desert capital, amidst 26 acres of lush, green gardens.

The Umaid Bhawan Palace has 347 rooms, 64 of which are guest rooms.

Taking 15 years to construct, the palace has 347 rooms and was completed in 1943. It now serves as the prime residence of the Jodhpur royal family. 64 of the 247 rooms serve as guest rooms so that you can enjoy the relaxing underground spa pools, 26 acres of sandstone towers, a private museum or enjoy a game of billiards in the recreation room.

Guests of the Umaid Bhawan Palace can borrow vintage cars and take them for a spin, and even hang out at the ultra-luxe suites that have their own bars. Rooms average at $734 per night at Trip Advisor, but visiting around mid-summer, you might chance upon rates for as low as $390. The palace was designed by world-renowned Edwardian architect Henry Lanchester, featuring awesome Art Deco style.
