Most of us love fast food because it is convenient and tasty. Sure, it is quite unhealthy but millions of customers still love it. For the last 15 years, the rate of consumption of fast food did not slow down. You might not be too health conscious enough to care about what fast food does to your body but if you’d know how the process of making the comfort meal that gets delivered on your table goes, you would probably change your mind about going to fast food chains, like KFC, McDonald’s, coffeehouse chain Starbucks and other restaurants.

On Reddit, employees from the aforementioned food and beverage companies spilled the beans on what not to order in response to a question from another user. And you’ll be surprised your favorite menu might just be on the list.

#1. Secret menus

“Starbucks — don’t order something from the “secret menu”. We sure as s–t don’t know what a Snickerdoodle frappuccino is, as it is not a menu item. Employees would be more than happy to make you a drink if you just explain the recipe rather than the name of it. I’ll make you diabetes in a goddamn cup if you just tell me what you want in there. Just don’t get mad at me for not knowing a whole menu customers created.” – justine7179

“Anything off of the “Hidden Menu.” Most people working don’t know how to make it and you’ll probably just receive a giant glob of assorted ingredients on a bun.” – rps_killerwhale

#2. Salads at DQ

“Salads from DQ are a rip off. They just recently down-sized them while changing the bowl to make it look like the same amount. Over $5 for 3 oz. of old lettuce, cabbage, carrots and even older grilled chicken.” – obeyyourbrain

#3. Tacos at chipotle

“I used to work at chipotle, and never ever ever order the Tacos. You get less than half the regular portions. Instead, order a bowl with whatever you want in it, then ask for the taco shells, hard or soft, on the side.

When i was there, the shells were free to get on the side. Im sure they still are but im not 100% sure” -KourageWolf

#4. Chicken menus and salads at Burger King

If you’re really short on time, don’t count on chicken tenders, grilled chicken sandwiches, or salads being made quickly at Burger King. I remember that the tenders took forever to cook and we didn’t really make them that often, so most times they were made to order. Same for the grilled chicken.

Everything else is whatever, I mean, still s—-y because it’s burger King but the normal amount of s—-y.

#5. Grilled chicken and filet-o-fish from McDonald’s

Source: McDonald's

“When i worked there in Canada, McDonald’s grilled chicken could sit there for a long time. So can the filet o fish. Usually they’re on top of it but s— happens, don’t be afraid to order those fresh if you worry it might be stale. Same with regular Burger patties, they take like 40 seconds its no big deal.” – CaseyTwist

#6. McDonald’s nuggets and shakes; I wonder why.

“Recently left McDonald’s after a year’s work there, don’t buy nuggets or shakes.” -sexybethany

#7. McDonald’s at 10 p.m.

“I wouldn’t order from McDonald’s after ten pm. We had a restroom where the sink was outside of the door. At night management counts money and does paperwork, so it is pretty much anarchy. Anyway, several people would use the restroom without washing their hands or putting on gloves and then make food. Or pick food off the floor and serve it. I’ve seen some bad s— back in my time at McDonalds on the late shift.” – The_Pastry_Dragon

#8. Subway tuna sandwiches

“Tuna sandwiches. 80% mayonnaise.” – karmavirus

“I recommend staying away from the Tuna and the Meatballs unless you can tell it is a fresh batch.” – Farathil

#9. KFC Gravy

‘Former KFC cook here, I recommend that you don’t consume the KFC gravy. It is primarily made of the filthy oil that stores up at the bottom of the cookers over the day and is then served to customers the next day.’ – JoeyBosa

“Don’t order anything without chicken at KFC. It will be frozen trash.” – JexInfinite

This guy is basically saying that we should not trust anything at KFC when it doesn’t involve chicken.

You might cringe at the thought of these foods and how they are handled or made in the kitchen but it should be noted that none of these claims have been verified. Basically, these people are saying that the foods are not fresh. You can be scared of the idea of eating them or go ahead and ignore these claims and continue ordering your favorite meals from fast food chains.

What do you think about the claims from employees. Let us know in the comments section below.
