Singer Ed Sheeran Surprises Teen Fan With Impromptu Onstage Duet

Ed Sheeran heard a young singer singing his song. He went up to the stage to join her!

13-year-old Sydney Bourdeau was invited to sing at West Edmonton Mall in Canada. The aspiring singer readily obliged to grace the event which was a charity fundraiser for the Edmonton Humane Society. For her repertoire, she chose to sing Ed Sheeran’s anthemic hit single “Thinking Out Loud.”

Little did Sydney know that Ed Sheeran himself was in the area – and that he heard her rendition of his song.

What Ed Sheeran did next was absolutely amazing!

The kindhearted crooner decided he wanted to sing with the fan and that’s exactly what he did. He quickly got up onstage and joined in the singing.

Naturally, Sydney was caught off guard by her surprise guest performer. To say she was stunned is an understatement. Fortunately, everything was captured on camera and we can all watch what happened in the mall.

Neither Sydney nor the event organizers had any idea about the impromptu onstage duet. The crowd went wild as the British pop star suddenly appeared from nowhere to share the stage with the amateur talent. He hugged the surprised fan, sang with her, and then made a quick exit.

Naturally, Sydney was extremely happy about it. It’s a day she will never forget. In her own words, this was “the best thing that’s ever happened to me.”

But actually, the best was yet to come.

Several hours after the duet, Ed Sheeran asked his manager to text Sydney and offer two free tickets for the BRIT Award winner’s show which will be held at the Rexall Place arena.

Now we know why this Ed Sheeran dude has actually earned the reputation of being one of the nicest guys in the music industry. He deserves that title very much.
