A Company Will Pay One Superfan $1,000 To Binge-Watch ‘Friends’

It will be your day, your week, your month, and even your year. If you win.

  • NBC’s hit comedy series, Friends, is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year.
  • A company is willing to pay $1000 to a superfan who will be willing to watch the series for 25 hours straight.
  • The winner will also receive one year Netflix subscription free.

Were you already born and understanding enough in 1994-2004 to be someone who dreamt of being part of the clique of Rachel (Jennifer Aniston), Monica Courteney Cox), Joey (Matt LeBlanc), Chandler (Matthew Perry), Phoebe (Lisa Kudrow), and Ross (David Schwimmer)? Were you as heartbroken when Monica broke up with Alan? Well, you’re not alone.

If you’re a Friends superfan, you probably know that one of NBC’s longest-running and hit comedy series is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. And you’ve already watched and re-watched the series, at least, a couple of times. But hey, did you know that you can watch it again and get paid with a thousand bucks?

Yes! The online retailer company by the name of Frontier Communications is set to pay one superfan a whopping $1000 just to watch Friends for 25 hours. According to NBC New York, this will be about 1/3 of the whole runtime of the series.

That’s one solid day and an hour just doing what you probably always do (and want to do), anyway. How hard could it be to watch your favorite series and earn a thousand dollars? It’s not like you’ll be tasked to teach Joey French just like Phoebe did (or wasn’t able to do), right?

Aside from the cash reward, the superfan will also get a paid Netflix subscription for 12 months. That’s a lot of time for fans, old and new, to watch and catch up on Friends before they say goodbye from the streaming channel in 2020.

However, this task won’t be that too easy, but it’s not as hard, too. As superfans, we all know the series by heart. We can never forget that classic turkey head scene, or when Joey and Ross cuddled on the couch, or that time we’re introduced to Marcel the Monkey, or the countless episodes where Phoebe did a song.

We aren’t allowed to do this by memory, though, even if we can. Whoever wants to get the reward should livestream their 25-hour binge on Twitter, says the report. Plus, the company asks that you post a selfie with your own group of friends while watching the series. Not that hard, right?
