What This Joey Did For His Mom After She Got Hit By a Car is Truly Heartwarming!

Koalas are cute, gentle marsupials. They live mostly in trees and only go down to the ground if necessary.

I’m  no expert when it comes to their social behavior, but what this sweet and adorable 6-month-old joey named Phantom did for his mom, Lizzy will truly melt your heart.

Lizzy and Phantom were hit by a car along the Warrego Highway in Coominya, Australia. Although Phantom was unharmed, his mom sustained head injuries and a collapsed lung. The koala mom had to undergo surgery at the Australia Zoo Wildlife Hospital.

What’s really striking was that Phantom stayed with her the entire time during surgery.

He supported his mom.

And held on to her as if his own life depended on her.

According to a spokesperson from the said wildlife hospital, Lizzy is recovering well from her injuries and the mother and son bond seemed to grow even closer.
