“Expect the unexpected” seems to be the unwritten rule when it comes to live TV. Once the cameral rolls, anything can really happen and so TV personalities have to be quick-witted and flexible in order to handle situations in the most effective ways.

Sky News’ Ashish Joshi, however, totally missed what was happening behind him as he was reported a story from the Westminster Abbey. Unknown to him, a duo of comedic magicians, hacked his live news report and performed a quick trick for the audiences.

It’s really hilarious! I couldn’t imagine how viewers reacted to this when it was first broadcast live. Of course, it’s safe to assume that most of them were delighted and got a bit distracted from the report.

Avid fans of magic may have recognized the famous tandem. Known together as Young & Strange, magicians Richard Young and Sam Strange maintain a YouTube channel where they showcase their antics and skills.

The trick they just performed while videobombing the reporter is called the “Shrinking Man” and it’s both funny and impressive at the same time. Actually, it’s admirable how they were able to prepare themselves (including their props) for the little interruption. I’m sure careful planning was involved to successfully pull such a stunt.

You got to admire the persistence of these magicians! At one point, the camera tried to zoom in to the reporter by tightening the frame but the duo still stuck around to finish their trick.

As a result? They got nationwide exposure on live TV, of course, but that was just the start of it. Eventually, they uploaded the video on YouTube and it immediately went viral. Currently, the video has already been viewed almost 5 million times.
